Turning the NEW XiKAR 10mm cigar punch's head deploys and retracts the punching mechanism from the unit's body, exposing two independent punching chambers. Both of these settings allow for a more or less profound impact, as the device locks into place at the selected depth. The mechanism is where this cigar punch really stands out from the crowd. Not only does it have a high-quality feel, premium key ring, and brushed finish, but it also has a very sharp center awl that extends from the center of the blades by 2 mm beyond the outer ring blade and then fully retracts flush with the body, making it an incredibly versatile tool.
It achieves this by boring out a deeper hole in the center of the cigar, which improves the draw and puff from a typical cigar punch and serves as the greatest reference for lining up your punching point in the exact center of the cigar, preventing you from cracking the cap or having an off punch. In addition to keeping the punch unit and the space around it clean, this tiny awl reliably removes caps in the shape of little Frisbees. Each turn brings a satisfying "click" as the one-of-a-kind mechanism stretches and contracts.
